MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION

Peter Bamford ASA, HMT – Executive Director

SAFE-NET INTERNATIONAL CONSULTING INC. originated by Peter Bamford in 2000.

Peter has over 20 years as a career Safety and Risk Management professional, primarily within the transportation sector throughout both Canada and the United States. He has held several field and senior level positions within multinational rail and maritime organizations facilitating Loss Control change initiatives throughout all levels of operations. Mr. Bamford brings plentiful experience working with trade organizations and management teams alike.

During NAFTA negotiations he was designated to represent all Canadian Employers in his appointment as stakeholder representative on Labor Cooperation with the North American Free Trade Agreement. He currently holds a chair on the International Safety Panel of the International Container and Cargo Handling Association and maintains a keen interest in Maritime Forces Pacific Security, addressing the Asia – Pacific Maritime Challenges and global trade. He is an Accredited Safety Auditor and Hazardous Materials Technician with the DOT US. He is keen to deliver change initiatives producing long standing company sustainability and pride.


Sheldon Cromwell - Director

Sheldon brings more than 39 years operational experience with Class 1 railroads, having held positions as System Director Intermodal, Senior Manager Operations Interface and Operations Management Control Officer. A creative and well organized transportation management professional with a comprehensive background in rail operations, train service design, intermodal and port operations, terminal design, railroad rules and regulations and process management. A transportation professional, Sheldon has analyzed productivity in new and existing yard and road operations, port operations, intermodal rail and trucking operations. His involvement encompasses projects ranging from the development and implementation of locomotive remote control systems, on site instruction and management mentoring, to developing and implementing rail yard optimization strategies. He brings extensive and comprehensive safety evaluations of rail yard operating processes to determine significant issues affecting safe and efficient operations.


Peter G. Lawrie, B.Sc., MBA. - Director

Peter has held several Senior Corporate Labor Relations, Human Resources and Employee Relations positions with responsibilities specializing in strategic labor relations, productivity, and building results based partnerships. Peter has also been a Partner in Houston based consulting firm specializing in large scale change projects in Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Lawrie has extensive expertise in developing, supporting and imbedding high performance results and cultures within and across a company’s operations, in partnership with management and union teams. Peter brings 37 years of experience in labor relations, including chairing negotiations for collective agreements, coaching, training, safety and consulting. He is committed to businesses producing surprising results through people being creative, safe and proud at work. He was past Chair of the Conference Board of Canada’s Industrial Relations Council and was a founding Co-Chair of the National Institute of Disability Management and Research. Mr. Lawrie is an active Rotarian supporting both community and international projects.


Bob De Clark, CHRP – Director

Bob has had significant Human Resources management experience with a major forest product company in British Columbia.  He has managed at the Operating and Corporate level with responsibilities in Canada, United States and abroad. He is considered a generalist with leadership, coaching skills and expertise in engaging people to help them find creative solutions that will result in continuous improvement.    His experience includes but is not limited to recruitment, training, safety & health, organization development and performance management systems.  He has strong labor relations skills including chairing many collective agreement negotiations.

Bob currently sits as a member of the Board of Directors of B.C. Transit, and is a Human Resources Consultant.   He has been very active as a volunteer on several community organizations.  In 1993 Bob was recognized nationally for his voluntary contributions to people with disabilities.


Dwayne Leskewitch, B. Sc. – Director

Dwayne has held several senior and executive level positions primarily within the Human Resource and Financial environments of multi national corporations and brings strong business acumen with demonstrated analytical, problem solving, negotiation and facilitation skills. His leadership experience extends throughout health and safety, labor relations, organizational development, recruitment, succession planning, performance management, training, executive and expatriate compensation to name a few. He is very proficient at leading change management activities. Dwayne currently sits as a Trustee on four joint union – management Trusts responsible for managing Pension and Health & Welfare for the Canadian west coast longshoremen. He has been active as a volunteer on several community organizations including ABC Canada, a National organization promoting literacy and served as a member of Vancouver 2010 Olympics pre-games volunteer team charged with selecting 25,000 volunteers for this prestigious event.
